Hwajinpo's castle, also known as "Kim Il-sung Villa," was originally used as a chapel. Located overlooking the wonderful scenery of Hwajinpo, this building was used by Kim Il-sung from 1948 to 1950. Hwajinpo Castle was a stone building with two stories above ground and one basement floor, and it was quite colorful as a building at the time, and its current appearance was restored in March 2005 from being damaged and neglected during the Korean War. Hwajinpo's last name donghae located on a hill overlooking the sea shore the open landscape. Bamboo forests grow in Geumgudo Island, about 300m away from Hwajinpo Beach, and in autumn, bamboo forests turn yellow and the entire island is golden. In addition, there are Seung-man Lee's villa and Gi-bung Lee's villa near Hwajinpo Castle, which is good for visiting together.
