Chilseong Observatory
About Peace Tour Sites
Chilseong Observatory, where the 7th Infantry Division of the Korean Army, the Rising Chilseong Unit, is stationed. It was first built in 1991, but was remodeled in 2013 with a modern sense. As one of the main observatories located on the central front of Korea, visitors can visit only three times a day at a fixed time, and there are many places where photography is restricted, but people do not stop heading to Chilseong Observatory. This is because the Chilseong Observatory is the only one in South Korea that can observe not only Geumseongcheon Stream, which flows to North Korea and leads to the Peace Dam, but also beautiful mountains and fields in North Korea and wild animals living in the DMZ. If you enter Chilseong Observatory, you can watch it on the day of application, so you can apply for a visit through the Sanyang-ri Military Soldiers Information Center by the set time on the day.
